Linkedin is a social network that is like no other. Although I have only been a member on the site for around 6 months, I have found that its extensive tools for the modern day professional to be useful in a multitude of different situations - from finding skilled firms like the graphic design agency I use, to showcasing my own skills. Linking with previous colleagues or old school mates is very useful and opens all sorts of networking opportunity doors alternatively linking with professionals that you have just met can be a useful way to get them to remember who you are and what you are all about. Another very useful tool on Linkedin is the business finder, which gives you the ability to quickly find businesses in an industry or area that you request. All in all, I believe that Linkedin is the greatest job-hunting tool on the web today. It allows you to market yourself effectively, find vital contacts in most industries along with methods to get in touch and above all, maintain current professional relationships.
