Problem with ebay sellers and negative feedback

I have been dealing with a seller on ebay for a few weeks now and we are still in the process of sorting the final deal out. I won the auction on the Friday night and promptly sent payment the following morning and expected delivery ideally by the end of the following week. I am getting concerned now because for no reason the seller is threatening me with negative feedback! as soon as i got his mail i emailed back to explain that he must be mistaken because i paid him the day after the auction. He claims that i didn't but i assured him i did. We have been like this for a while now trying to sort it out. I did a ebay negative feedback search on the help system to see if i could get it removed if i needed to but could not find anything. I need to really contact ebay or paypal i guess or someone that can explain to this guy that he has actually been paid and is somehow not seeing my payment to him.
