My older brother used to play soccer when he was in high school but he quit even before he graduated. My father did not understand why but I did. When he started playing soccer, it was all for fan. When the high school coach saw him playing at the park, he asked him to try out for the soccer team. He did not want to so he refused. The coach did not give up. He approached my father and told him that if he played soccer in the team then he would easily get college scholarship because of soccer. So both my father and the coach pushed him to practice all the time. He would get so tired and he started hating the game. He read an article about sport psychology this article was about the real reason of playing games. It talked about how one should play a game that they loved and should not reduce the game as a source of pain because of playing it for all the wrong reasons. He faked a knee injury that caused him not to play anymore and he was comfortable with that. |

Of course the title refers to photographing killer whales, not actually shooting them. Inspired by my acquaintance who is a wedding photographer in Berkshire, I have gotten more and more into photography. During my holiday to Vancouver Canada we took a boat trip out to sea to see killer whales. My camera was a compact point and shoot digital camera that anyone can work. My friend's camera was a mega impressive professional camera with amazing zoom capabilities. Taking a photo of a killer whale in the wild is not an easy thing to do as you do not now when they emerge from the water. My friend was lying on her belly zooming like crazy to get her shot. Me on the other hand, I just clicked away in the hope I would get some good shots. Thankfully the whales were there in abundance and ready to come out and play. Very impressive to say the least and amazing to see them so close. When we got back and we were checking out the results of our camera work, it turned out that my easy-to-use camera had taken the best shots and there were actually killer whales in the photos. Unfortunately despite all the best efforts my friend had zero, nil, zilch photos of the whales. I shouldn't have laughed ..... but I did. |
